TL:DR; He is downright amazing, but he leaves me wanting.
I was raised on synthpop in the 80's, over the years I've developed an extreme love of the piano sound along with the violin. To me one of the most complete tracks of all time is "Got Love" by Tove Lo mainly because of the strings during the crecendo.
As a synthpop lover I didn't even know there was such a thing as an electric violin until I stubbled upon Robert and this track. The result is amazing. This song has a huge personal importance to my life which is why I was led here 4 years ago. But I have always been left wanting. During the crecendo, it feels like Robert is taking an alternate rute by appearing to be backing the backing track. I'm not sure if that is what he is actually doing or if he is merely rendering the track as he feels is, but to me it doesn't come close to covering how this track makes me feel. In Roberts defense it did encompass the most important of my live and I suspect that is fairly unique and hard to cover.
I would love to hear him do a cover of Tove Lo's "Got Love" though 🙂
