-Stereo sound, hear the zots coming at you from any direction!

This project started merely as a challenge to see if I was able to code in a “pseudo-raycaster” engine fast enough to run on mobile, using Clickteam Fusion 2.5’s Android Exporter. The idea to make this a Tunnel Runner clone was there from the very beginning but the biggest breakthrough was figuring out how to make a renderer that enabled the player to FREELY move around and rotate, while still getting a playable framerate.
And YES, this game is made with Android in mind, so there’s no extensions used, other than active objects and first-party extensions (list object, array, etc).
I could write about this for hours but for now, here’s an old blog post about the very first builds:
• Tunnel Runner Redux is a remake by elPatrixF
• Tunnel Runner is a game published by CBS Electronics (C)1983, coded by Richard “Dick” Balaska; for the Atari 2600.
